All her cards feature dogs and the occasional cat, focussing on main occasion events. Jo specialises in capturing the character of her subjects and translating those ‘looks’ our canine companions use to communicate with us. She travels Europe in her van with her husband and dog, Thomasina, designing new cards and working to commission. Lucy

You might describe me as an accidental artist. I re-found my love for drawing following a serious brain injury in 2012. It meant I needed to take life a little slower to allow my body and head to recover.

A friend suggested I kept a drawing diary to pass the time – it became a fantastic way to practise and develop my style and once finished I found I had created the story of my own recovery.

10 years on and I feel very lucky to have grown my recovery hobby, into my little business. I absolutely love creating new cards and I am forever jotting down design ideas. All of my artwork is created at my kitchen table in Somerset and when I'm not colouring in, you will probably find me cycling around the roads of South West England!

Cory Vardanega
Magglesteins Card Co comes straight from the spare room of Cory's two-bedroom house in Brisbane, Australia. Cory loves crappy reality TV shows and is intrigued by their lifestyles. She thought why not make fun of them and put their faces onto greeting cards, with the odd terrible pun for good measure. ‘Magglestein’ is one of the many nicknames she calls her dog who is also the CEO of Magglesteins Card Co. Together, they aim to breathe new life into the dying world of snail mail and put a smile on peoples faces wherever they are in the world.

Marianna Marx
Marianna has been drawing for as long as she can remember. Her earliest introduction to stories have played an influential role in the drawings she creates till this day. Picture books including Where the Wild Things Are, lyrics from folk songs as well as stories from her parent’s endless travels have led Marianna’s mind to wander into places where absolutely anything is possible. Marianna predominantly works with pencil and watercolour paints. Tiny fragments from her enormous collection of vintage books and travel brochures often weave their way in to her drawings, adding to the sense of escapism or journey to an imaginary world or fantastical situation. Through her drawings Marianna hopes to hint at a narrative without giving away the whole story. She hopes that imagination of people who view her artwork is temporarily sparked to escape in to another time or place.
